    One of our most popular activities, 4-H summer camp, is enrolling now.  July 8-11, we will be taking about 100 local youth to Boyle County 4-H summer camp at the J.M. Feltner 4-H Camp near London, along with other 4-H’ers from Lincoln and Powell counties. The deadline is  June 14, but we’ve already filled about 25 percent of our beds.

  19. Dropout issue goes way beyond age limit

    Upon reading about the legislators changing the age that students may leave school from 16 to 18, several memories came to mind because I spent 25 years working with students as a teacher and then working for students as an administrator.  It is admirable that Governor Steve Beshear and his wife want to help students secure their future by graduating from high school. In my role as the last one to see those who were dropping out as I signed their dropout paper, I believe it will not eliminate all student dropouts. If it helps some, then it is worth the time and effort.
