  1. Defining academia's achievement gap

    My last comments about dropouts included the reasons for students leaving school and listed academic failure as one significant factor. Because of this factor, these students would also fall into the educational “achievement gap” category. “Achievement gap” is defined as a disparity in academic performance between student groups. This gap can show up in standardized testing, classroom grades and graduation rates.
