  9. L.A.-area chef K.C. Ma killed in accident

    Popular local chef K.C. Ma was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle crash in the Central Valley, according to friends and family on his Facebook page. His wife Ivy was also reported to be injured but recovering. Ma had worked in the L.A. area at Providence, Water Grill and Vinoteque on Melrose Avenue and was in the process of opening his own restaurant in Cerritos, which was to be called Umaya.
