Jamie Watson's goal off a penalty kick in the first minute got the Orlando City Soccer Club off to a good start Saturday night, and the Lions went on to defeat the Tampa Bay Rowdies 2-0 to finish in seventh place at the Disney Pro Soccer Classic.

Dennis Chin, who played at Oviedo High and Rollins, scored in the 76th minute for Orlando City's other goal. The Lions finished 1-2-1 in the eight-team tournament, which included six teams from Major League Soccer.

"The two-nil win is always nice because it always pleases our supporters, but it was not an enjoyable 90 minutes to watch,'' Orlando City coach Adrian Heath said. "I don't say that very often.''

The Lions and Rowdies, the reigning North American Soccer League champions, will meet March 9 at the Florida Citrus Bowl and March 30 in St. Petersburg in the inaugural I-4 Derby.

Orlando City will continue its exhibition schedule at 2 p.m. next Saturday against Florida International at Seminole Soccer Complex in Sanford. The Lions do not begin their USL Pro regular season until April.

The Montreal Impact (2-0-1) met the Columbus Crew (3-0) in the championship match Saturday night.

In other games, D.C. United (2-1-1) defeated the Philadelphia Union (1-2-1) for third place behind goals from Dwayne De Rosario and Lionard Pajoy.

Claudio Bieler scored for the 23rd minute as Sporting Kansas City (3-1) defeated Toronto FC (1-3) 1-0. Bieler's goal was assisted by Soony Saad and Chance Myers.

MLS will begin its regular season next weekend.
