Jim Milligan, founder of Fustini's Oils & Vinegars, will sign copies of his new cookbook, "How Fustini's Do Fustini's," from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at McLean & Eakin, Booksellers in Petoskey. He will also be signing the first Fustini's cookbook, "In the Kitchen with Fustini's."
Fustini's was founded by Jim and Lane Milligan. While living in Minneapolis, they took frequent vacation visits to Traverse City and fell in love with Northern Michigan. On his travels, Jim experienced the oil and vinegar shops in Europe and began developing an idea to bring a similar shop to the states. In Italy, a fustini is the stainless steel container in which olive oils and vinegars are stored ... and the name was born. Upon Milligan's retirement from 3M Corporation, Fustini's Oils & Vinegars opened in May of 2008 on Front Street in downtown Traverse City. The following year, the location in Petoskey opened its doors and in 2010 a third store began in Holland, Mich.
