  7. Richard Gordon Malcolm, Indiana

    Richard Gordon Malcolm, Indiana, passed on to eternal peace and rest on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, after a sudden illness. He was born in Middletown, New York in 1927. Dick was a 1945 Indiana High School graduate and a graduate of The Diesel School located in Neville Island. Dick is survived by his second wife Marcia Miller Malcolm; two sons, Dennis and Gregory Malcolm; a daughter, Patricia Malcolm Myers; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dick is also survived by two brothers Donald and Raymond Malcolm, and one sister Virginia Malcolm Reed, and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dick was a World War II active duty veteran and a past commander of the Indiana VFW Post 1989. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was an active Boy Scout attaining the Life Scout rank prior to serving his country. Later he served Scouting as a Cubmaster, District Commissioner and as an assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 36. Dick was a Master Mason with the Indiana Franklin Masonic Lodge 313, the Zion Lutheran Church and the American Legion. He most enjoyed his membership in the Indiana County Amateur Radio club. His call letters were KA3IYT. Dick retired from McCreary Tire and Rubber Company, and was co-founder of Malcolm’s House of Flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander Gordon Malcolm and Grace Pfeiffer, by one brother Russell, and by his first wife Lula Steele Malcolm.   15. Carl Martin Seibert, 94, of Onalaska, Wis., and formerly of Erie

    Carl Martin Seibert, age 94, of Onalaska, Wis., and formerly of Erie, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at the Onalaska Care Center. He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Somerset, the son of Daniel Weston and Cora Madge (Holderbaum) Seibert. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Marie (Anderson) Seibert; daughters, Marsha (William) Bateman of West Salem, Wis. and Karen (Larry) Jernigan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son, Donald (Theresa) Seibert of Huntington, W.Va.; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Anderson of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David; brothers, James, Daniel, Wayne, John, and Robert Seibert; sister, Helen Evans; and step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Jernigan) Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an electrician’s mate in the submarine service. He retired from General Telephone Company of Pennsylvania after 43 years of service. Carl was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Erie, Penn., the Masonic Lodge No. 358, Somerset, Penn., Scottish Rite Valley of Erie, the Independent Telephone Pioneers, and the Cardiac Fitness Club in Erie. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He had a passion for airplanes and all things mechanical. Carl will be remembered for his life lived with kindness and love for his family. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, 1312 Graham Ave., Windber on with Rev. David McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery, Johnstown.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or to the charity of one’s choice.
