    During the many years the Rev. E.W. Heckenberg was pastor at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Holtville, it was his custom to give each bride and groom a black leather Lutheran hymnal with gold-tipped pages. During our various moves the hymnal was always with us. He and his wife, Nathalie, gave it to us on July 2, 1955, our wedding day. I cherish it especially since the Heckenbergs and their daughter, Linda, were loved by all.
