  5. Conkwright wins Bluegrass Soccer title

    The Conkwright Middle School girls soccer team capped a successful season by defeating Woodford County 1-0 in the finals of the Bluegrass Conference Tournament last week. After losing 2-0 at Woodford County in the first game of the season, the team went on to win the next 11 games, scoring 32 goals without conceding any scores. Hannah Smith, Haley Hannan and Shannon Ramey were the top scorers but 12 different players managed to get on the scoresheet and the whole squad of 24 players played their part throughout the season. It was only the second time that a team from the school has reached the conference soccer tournament final and the first time for the girls’ program.
