1. Hyde5 : Why I'm picking Heat over Pacers in 5 games

I want to tap dance around this. I want to pick the Heat in six. I want to be safe. I want to say how tough an opponent Indiana is (true), how much a size advantage they have (true) and how the Heat have had trouble with them lately (1-2 in the regular...

-------------------- MAY 20, 2013 Q: OK Ira, should we be worried about Dwyane Wade's ability to play Lance Stephenson? Stephenson just looks so much more athletic than Wade. -- Teresa, Miami. A: First, don't overstate one game. Yes, Lance looked...

7. Heat's shooters never found their mark vs. Bulls

South Florida Sun Sentinel
For the Miami Heat's 3-point specialists, the long shots proved to be, well, a longshot during the second round against the Chicago Bulls, even with the Heat advancing in five games. While there was an unlikely 9-of-11 3-point contribution from...

9. Hyde5: Five things we learned from Heat-Bulls series

Five things we learned in the Heat-Bulls series: 1. The Heat is a decidedly different team with Dwyane Wade. No surprise there. But for anyone thinking they might be better off with a healthier option, Game 5 was a stern reminder. After scoring 12 in...

11. Winderman's view: Heat 88, Bulls 65

Observations from Monday night's 88-65 playoff victory over the Chicago Bulls at the United Center: - It could be as simple as the Bulls reaching their expiration date. - But that shouldn't take away anything from how Chris Bosh has stepped up these...

15. ASK IRA: Can Heat afford Cole down the road?

Q: To keep the core together, the Heat will need to minimize role-player salary. Is Norris Cole playing himself out of their market as a bench player at the same time he is proving himself indispensable to the team? Is next season the last the Heat retain his exclusive rights? -- Jonah, Fort Lauderdale

17. ASK IRA: Are Bulls embarrassing themselves?

Q: Do teams like the Chicago Bulls engage in this immature behavior because there are so many expectations of them, given they are playing for a franchise that traditionally had success? They obviously came to this series looking for more of a street fight than a basketball game because they know they're clearly outmatched in basketball. -- Daniel B.

21. Too early for LeBron to lose confidence in shooters

There is no absolutely no chance of LeBron James second-guessing himself the next time he is on the basketball court. If there is an open teammate, he will make the pass. Simple as that. Some skeptics would say James was perhaps too unselfish in the...

23. ASK IRA: Does "position-less" fail against Bulls?

Q: Not to completely overreact after one loss, but does the "position-less" approach not work as well against the Bulls? The main benefit of "position-less" is to space the floor and create chances at the rim or corner 3-poiners, and the Bulls do a great job of taking those away. If the advantage of having shooters on offense is neutralized, anyway, wouldn't it make sense to put better defense and rebounding on the floor? The Heat did handily beat a Bulls team with Derrick Rose two years ago, using a traditional lineup. And now you have Birdman, Ray Allen, Shane Battier and Norris Cole in the rotation instead of Joel Anthony and Mike Bibby. -- Adrian.
