7. Change you can believe in? It's business as usual in the NFL

The 49ers couldn't lose. The Browns couldn't win. The Vikings were the sleepers. The Jets were the snorers.
The 49ers couldn't lose. The Browns couldn't win. The Vikings were the sleepers. The Jets were the snorers. In the ever-changing NFL, though, that was . . . so last week. Everything was turned on its head Sunday — or knocked on its backside, as...

11. Steelers Come Up Short in Tennessee

What goes around comes around for the Steelers. Less than a week after Pittsburgh kicked a game-winning field goal as time expires to beat the Eagles, the Titans do the same thing to the Steelers in Nashville 26-23. Shaun Swisham missed a 54-yard attempt with less than a minute to go in the game for the visitors. Tennessee kicker Rob Bironas split the uprights on the final play of the game to lift the Titans to victory.

13. Fantasy football writer Scott Engel breaks down the Seahawks defense, special teams

The smart and savvy Fantasy owner knows to wait until the final rounds to draft his defense/special teams unit. Defensive personnel and performances change significantly every year, and many units often do not fall in line with how they produced statistically from the previous year. Some of the best defenses sometimes come off the waiver wire, and you can even play the matchups for optimum success in many weeks.

19. Scouting report: Ravens at Titans

RAVENS RUN OFFENSE VS. TITANS RUN DEFENSE: The Titans worked out six defensive linemen Tuesday as injuries and ineffectiveness have taken a toll on a unit they hoped would be improved after several offseason additions. In their season-opening 16-14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Titans allowed 163 rushing yards. The Jaguars' game-opening 11-play touchdown drive featured nine runs totaling 49 yards. Defensive ends Derrick Morgan and Jason Jones, who both missed the opener with knee injuries, are back, so that could help stabilize a run defense that finished 20th in the NFL last season. But after rushing for 170 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ravens feel that they can run the ball against anybody. An offensive line that didn't play together the entire preseason exceeded the most optimistic expectations last week, and the additions of left tackle Bryant McKinnie and fullback Vonta Leach paid immediate dividends in front ofRay Rice.

Joe Flacco rolled to his right and found no open receiver, so he turned around and ran back to the left. With no better options visible there, Flacco pivoted and finally threw the ball away just before being leveled by Tennessee Titans defensive end Derrick Morgan.
