Highlights
The Chicago Blackhawks, one of the National Hockey League's "Original Six" franchises, began play on Nov. 17, 1926, under the guidance of owner Major Frederic McLaughlin, a coffee baron. The Hawks played their first game at the now-demolished Chicago Stadium on Dec. 15, 1929. In their history, the Hawks have captured four Stanley Cups, given to the NHL champion each season: 1934, 1938, 1961 and 2010.
