  21. Snowboarders prep for U.S. Open qualifiers

    A charismatic group of snowboarders gathered for roll call at Seven Springs Mountain Resort Friday in preparation for the Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Qualifiers. The event will be held this week. There was quite a bit of clowning around during the preliminary meeting. Above, Stephanie Meagher, of Nova Scotia, and Michada Davis-Meehan, of Australia, posed with fake mustaches. Events include some of the best amateur snowboarders attempting to qualify to compete at the Burton U.S. Open in Vail, Colo. The mustaches were part of a promotional giveaway from one of the many sponsors represented at the competition. One of the athlete's artistic boards is pictured at right.
