  3. World watch

Brazil: The 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup kicked off Saturday and will run in six cities throughout Brazil until June 30. Brazil's Ministry of Tourism estimates that the events will draw 600,000 foreign tourists and 3 million Brazilians. The soccer tournament is serving as a trial run for the World Cup games in 2014. The Justice Ministry has spent almost $600 million on heightened security for this cup, and visitors should remain alert at all times, especially in the host cities of Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador. Crimes most likely to affect tourists are theft, robbery and credit card and ATM fraud.
