    Here in military-rich Hampton Roads, Memorial Day holds special meaning. Across the region, many will gather and pause for a moment to say thank you to fallen patriots. Monday's outdoor <strong>Memorial Day Concert at City Center</strong> in Newport News will feature the 50-piece U.S. Army TRADOC Band playing American tunes in a stirring musical salute. Admission is free. Music starts at 7 p.m. A cork Wall of Honor will be erected, allowing friends and family members to pin photos, messages or paper flowers in memory of loved ones.   15. Memorial Day weekend dog show in Hampton features 1,500 canines

    Get a sniff of our own Westminster experience at the Virginia Memorial Day Cluster All-Breed Dog Show in Hampton. The three-day show will feature more than 1,500 dogs in AKC Rally trials, a junior showmanship clinic and a Best Puppy in Show competition. The show will take place at the Hampton Roads Convention Center from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. During the show weekend, check out more than 30 vendors offering pet merchandise unique to the Hampton Roads region. There also will be a new AKC owner and handler series on Saturday and Sunday, and special guided tours of the dog show are available upon request. Tickets to the show cost $5 for adults and $3 for seniors, military and children ages 3 to 16. Children ages 2 and younger are free.
