    The Jessamine County-City of Wilmore Joint Planning Commission will wait a month before acting on what several members called one of the most important decisions it will ever make — whether to recommend approval for a gas station along U.S. 68 that stands in direct opposition to principles laid out in the county’s joint comprehensive plan approved by planning bodies last year.

  3. Lane closures scheduled for U.S. 68 near Catnip Hill Road

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways announced that lane closures will be in effect for U.S. 68 Monday, June 6 at approximately 8 a.m. The closures will be in place until Tuesday, June 14 (prior to the Ichthus music festival).  Lane closures will not be in effect during the festival, but will resume after the end of the festival.

    When you drive west from Hustonville on Ky. 78 toward Bradfordsville, the highway takes you over a high hill and through a high gap in the knobs. This high gap has been known as Turkey Foot Gap for more than 150 years. This gap through the knobs is not the original pathway of the Cumberland Trace. The trace passed from Fort Logan to the knobs and on down the Big South Fork of Rolling Fork to Bradfordsville and ultimately to Nashville.
