  23. Amanda Shirlene Bittinger, 73, of Boynton

    Amanda Shirlene Bittinger, 73, of Boynton, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at her residence. Born Feb. 6, 1940, in Jennings, Md., she s the daughter of the late Loman and Lulu Belle (Hoover) Wilt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lee Bittinger, Nov. 27, 2004 and a son, Larry DeWayne Wilt. Mrs. Bittinger was a homemaker and a member of Maranatha Assembly of God. She is survived by two sons: Joseph Lee Bittinger and wife, Lynn (Knull), Woodstock, Va.; James Allen Bittinger and wife, Marie (Bauer), Boynton; three daughters: Debra Lynn Failinger; and Susan Kay Bittinger and companion, Randall Hollada, all of Meyersdale; and Bernadine Frederick and husband, Michael A., Grantsville, Md.; two brothers: Calvin Wilt and Fay Wilt, both of Grantsville; two sisters: Betty Beachy and Alverta Stanton, both of Grantsville; a half-sister, Maryetta Hay, Salisbury; a step-brother, Robert Hay, Grantsville; and a step-sister, Emma Hay, Windber; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Md., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will be in the Bittinger Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
