  9. In living color : The bold and the beautiful at Danville Farmers Market

I'm what some may call a “city girl.” I'm from New Jersey, the state stuck in between two of this country’s most bustling and popular cities — New York City and Philadelphia. So on my way to the Danville Farmer's Market Thursday afternoon, I'll admit I didn't know what to expect. Farmers Roger Gerke, Alvin Lee and Jeff Galloway (above, with a customer) all had an array of healthy produce laid out in their respective stations. Charlee Moore (at top)¿was as tickled pink about Galloway’s blackberries as I¿was. I¿was also immediately enthralled by all the vibrant colors, as were the customers who came by to shop. Everything looked so tasty that this city girl has to admit — there may be something to country living after all.
