New beer carries the name of Bath County golf legend Sam Snead
Golf legend Sam Snead had one of the smoothest swings in the history of the game. Now, a cold one that carries the name of the Bath County native is billed as "the smoothest beer in golf."

Slammin' Sam was introduced in July at the Greenbrier Classic Golf Tournament in West Virginia.    Now, it's on the menu at Sam Snead's Tavern, and other restaurants at the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.

Donnie Warlitner is the Homestead's Director of Restaurants. "Mr. Snead's beer fits with his restaurant," Warlitner told WDBJ7. "It fits with our menu. This area. anything that deals with Sam Snead is a positive to us."

There's more to Slammin' Sam than just a famous name. The beer is billed as a premium American lager brewed in the German tradition.
