A portion of Kentucky’s basketball schedule has been set.
The slate, released by the school on Tuesday, features eight games at Rupp¿Arena and games against Maryland and Duke on neutral sites. The defending national champion Wildcats open the season against Maryland in the Barclays Center on Nov. 9 in Brooklyn, N.Y. and will take on Duke four days later on Nov. 13 at the Georgia Dome in the Champions Classic. The Wildcats will play Notre Dame in the SEC-Big East Challenge on Nov. 29 in South Bend.
Kentucky plays three consecutive home games at Rupp in the continuation of the Barclays Center Classic, starting with Lafayette College on Nov. 16, followed by Morehead State on Nov. 21 and Long Island University on Nov. 23.
Following the contest against Notre Dame, Kentucky returns home for five straight games. Baylor will take on the Wildcats on Dec. 1, followed by Samford (Dec. 4), Portland (Dec. 8), Lipscomb (Dec. 15) and Marshall on Dec. 22.
The team’s annual showdown against Louisville will take place on¿Dec. 29 at the KFC YUM! Center in Louisville. John¿Calipari’s squad concludes the non-conference portion of the schedule against Eastern Michigan on Jan. 2 at Rupp¿Arena.
The team’s exhibition schedule includes Longwood on Nov. 1, followed by Transylvania on Nov. 5. Big Blue Madness is slated for Oct. 12, followed by the Blue-White scrimmage on Oct. 24 at Rupp¿Arena.
Missing from the traditional schedule is the team’s annual “home game” at Freedom Hall in Louisville. North Carolina and Indiana also aren’t part of this season’s non-conference schedule.
