The Cultural Arts Club held its March meeting at the home of Jeanecia Simmons with Mrs. Jackie Jones as hostess. Present were Mrs. Geneva Simmons, Mrs. Betty Smith, Mrs. Bobbie Chenault, Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. Jones. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Alena Jordan, 34-A Spruce Court.
Seven Winchester women have been selected for inclusion in the 1986 edition of Outstanding Young Women of America. The seven are Kandace Renee Profitt, Judy Ann Singleton, Susan Moncure Lewis, Elaine Smith, Peggy Lee Oliver, Charlene Florence Gentry and Sara Elaine Farris.
State transportation officials announced this morning that more than $200,000 has been earmarked for improvements at the intersection of the Colby and McClure roads. The funding is in addition to the county’s $165,000 allocation from the rural secondary road fund.
