The music ranges from bluegrass to rock during the annual Winchester Lions Club Show tonight at Conkwright Junior High School. Members of Homer Ledford and the Cabin Creek Band Damon Crawford, L.C. Johnson, Rollie Carpenter, Freddie and Ledford will perform a bluegrass medley. Bruce Pace and the entire cast will sing “Old Blackwater.”
Gov. Martha Layne Collins has created the Governor’s Pacesetters program, which will develop year-round activities targeted at senior citizens 55 and older. The Pacesetters will have an official “Festival Event” of the Bluegrass State Games.
The American Private Enterprise Scholars at George Rogers Clark High School were recently named. Participating were Angela Ratliff, Brenda Hudson, Gina Haynes, David Bush, Robert Mulfinger and David Hanna. The scholars will attend a business seminar at the University of Kentucky.
