The George Rogers Clark Cardinals split a pair of games Monday in the Sportsworld-Adidas High School Summer Basketball League in Lexington. Clark lost to Franklin County 57-40 and then regrouped and topped Dixie Heights 67-43. Clark coach Guy Strong said Dixie Heights had some height, but they couldn’t handle Clark’s 6-1 center Rick Burkhead.
Janie Johnson has been elected president of the Winchester Art Guild for 1986-87. Serving with her will be Fran McNemar, vice president; Linda E. Miller, secretary; and Dorothy Slaven, treasurer.
Stacie Turley of Clark County was among the State 4-H records book champions recently. She won in Field Crops. She will attend the National Conference in Chicago.
