Mr. and Mrs. Beverly G. Smith left Monday for their home in Fort Sumter, S.C., following a visit with his mother, Mrs. L.B. Smith and other relatives here.

Judy Sparks, who has been associated with the Kentucky River Foothills Development Council Home Care In-Service Training Program for nine years, has resigned to join the Head Start Program. In recent ceremonies in the community room at Smith Manor, Ms. Sparks was presented an appreciation plaque by Clark County Judge-Executive James B. Allen Jr.

Members of the Clark County Chapter of the American War Mothers held a picnic at Smith Manor Thursday. Members and guests present were Cora Brandenburg, Florence Brooks, Fern Carroll, Grace Lee Johnson, Allie Satterwhite, Marlene Wilson, Viola Baber, Lucy Ballard, Rachel Cole, Emma Gravett, Margaret Lawrence, Margaret Brandenburg and Mattie Bush.

Directors of the Winchester-Clark County Chamber of Commerce have given tentative approval to an agreement “to coordinate certain services with two governmental agencies.” The Winchester-Clark County Recreation, Tourist and Convention Commission was expected to discuss the subject at a meeting today.
