Georgia Vegetable Co. representatives will meet with city, county and state officials Monday night in the first of two open-to-the-public hearings concerning GVC’s plan to bring 200 to 250 migrant workers to Clark County. The meeting will feature GVC farm manager Gary Voelkel and employee Andy Graves, who also serves as the unpaid treasurer of the Kentucky Agricultural Marketing Cooperative.

LOUISVILLE (AP) — Many downtown businesses that line Broadway find it pointless to operate during the Kentucky Derby Festival’s Pegasus Parade. But the others which do not hang a “Closed for Parade” sign find the time profitable. Discount Prescriptions even extends its hours, and for good reason. In 1 1/2 hours, more than 200 customers had shuffled by the cashier’s counter.

Miss Tammy Jo Brinegar has selected Tuesday, June 16, as the date of her marriage to Charles Scott Hall. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Brinegar, Clark County.
