A gas pipeline on Ky. 15 in Powell County, two miles from the Clark County line, exploded at 3:55 p.m. Friday, shooting flames 200 feet into the air. Firemen and law enforcement officers on the scene said no one was injured in the blast.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Rev. Carl Perkins, D-Ky., has introduced a bill aimed to provide "Healthful outdoor work" to unemployed young people from the ages of 16 to 22. The bill, introduced Wednesday in the House, is similar to the administration's youth Conservation Corps, a measure which died during the last Congress.
