Gordon and Geraldine Martin, of Means, Ky., announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Marie Martin, to Andrew Jay Bender, the son of John and Cindy Bender of Shartelsville, Pa.
The bride-elect is a 1993 graduate of Montgomery County High School and is currently a student at Morehead State University. She is employed by City Cartage Co.
The prospective groom is a 1995 graduate of Hamburg High School in Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond in 2008. A member of Beta Theta Pi, he is now a lieutenant serving in the United States Marine Corps.
The wedding is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on April 6 at Providence Baptist Church in Winchester.
