Alisha Kay Baker celebrated her first birthday with a party Saturday, Feb. 28, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Keith Baker, 402 Wexford Drive. Games were played and refreshments were served to the honoree and Mr. and Mrs. Greg Griffett, Christy and Damron; Mr. and Mrs. William Boyd, April and Janet; Barry Griffett, Barry Jr., Rachel and Angela; Mrs. Marie Griffett, Amber and Scott; Mrs. Betty Nigoff, Amy and Brian; Mr. and Mrs. Jay Baker; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Baker and Aaron; Mrs. Nancy Richardson, Charley and Avery; Mrs. Wanda Stamper and Mary Ann; Herbert Boyd and Asha; Howard Weldon Moore, Meredith and Alyssa; Misty King, Martin Crystal; Michelle Halcomb; and the hosts.

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. — The George Rogers Clark Cardinals couldn’t overcome 25 percent second-half shooting as they fell to host Montgomery County 51-40 in the 40th District tournament finals Saturday night. After being tied 29-all at the half, Clark managed only two points in the third period and 11 total in the second half on 4 of 10 shooting.

Mrs. Betty Berryman, general manager of The Winchester Sun, presented slides of her recent trip to Japan at the “Japanese Celebration” tea hosted by the Clark County Extension Homemakers March 2.
