Clark County Republicans meeting
The Clark County Republicans’ regular monthly meeting will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at The Steakhouse on¿Lexington Avenue. All registered republicans are urged to attend.
Strode Station open house
There will be an open house and teacher meet and greet at Strode Station Elementary Monday, Aug. 6, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Students and parents are invited to come meet the teachers, and visit classrooms. School supplies may be brought, as well.
Local blood drive
There will be a blood drive Aug. 8 at the Clark County Public Library from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Every donor will receive a $10 Walmart gift card. Donors also will be entered into a drawing for a 2012 Toyota Rav4.

GTE/Slyvania/Osram retirees meeting
The Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram retirees will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Jade Garden in the Winchester Kroger Plaza. All retirees and former employees are invited.
Readifest Aug. 2
The Clark County Public schools 14th annual Readifest will be Thursday, Aug. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. at College Park. All children attending the event accompanied by an adult will receive school supplies.
Families with children that are unable to attend Readifest can still get the free school supplies at the school their child attends. For more information contact Central/Conkwright Family Resouce Director Eve Miller at 744-1369.
