Ernest Cole Cruse, age 92, aka “Muscles” later “Poppy” of Louisville, a native of Clark County and the son of the late Robert and Katherine Cruse, went to be with his beloved wife Nancy on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Titusville, Fla.
He loved his country music. There is a wonderful homecoming there. Ernest was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from AT&T.
Survivors include his children, Ernest C. Cruse II (Elizabeth) of Louisville, Charles C. Cruse (Sharon) of Lexington, and Claudia Cruse Mazza (James) of Titusville, Fla.; grandchildren, Vincent, McCall, Dominic, Rachael, Cole, Spencer, Allie; and great granddaughter, Ada.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Nickell Cruse. He has a number of brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Lee Cruse officiating. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18, at the funeral home.
