Irene Johnson, 94 of Winchester, widow of Raymond Johnson, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Fountain Circle Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Clark County on April 21, 1918, to the late Walter and Cora Brown. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the First Church of God, Colby Road, where she taught Sunday School for 36 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Faye Sharp of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two sons, Oscar Ray Johnson and Gayle Johnson of Winchester; special daughter-in-law, Cheryl Johnson; three grandsons, Bill Sharp, Bob Sharp and Vance Johnson; two granddaughters, Mandy (Mike) Watson and Christy (Bob) Watkins; and five great grandchildren, Bradley Cole Johnson, Sara Sharp, Allison Sharp, Nathan Watson, Preston Watkins and Madison Watkins.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16, at Scobee Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m.by Rev. Paul Hollingsworth. Burial will be in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bill Sharp, Bob Sharp, Vance Johnson, Tim Smith, Donnie Rogers and Bob Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlene Hollingsworth, Brenda Rogers, Ralph Parmer, Linda Parmer, Carol Smith, Bert Bressler, Jean de Boer, Cecil Thomas, Anna Thomas, Lillian Segress, Eleanor Cravens and the First Church of God Joy Group.
