Janie Smith, 65, of Mount Sterling, wife of Elmer R. Smith, passed away Saturday, July 7, at her home.
Mrs. Smith was born in Winchester on July 12, 1946, to the late Spiral and Girlie Mae Thomas Smith. She was a retired Head Start teacher.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, Michelle (Jack) Felty and Michael Smith of Mount Sterling; six grandchildren, Danielle Todd, Shayla Felty, Gregory Stone, Tommy Stone, Jordan Smith and Travis Felty; one great-grandson, Carson Todd; and one brother, Danny Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Scobee Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 9, at Scobee Funeral Home.
