John Edward Hager, 90, of Winchester, husband for 44 years to Dorothy Rupard Hager, passed away Monday at his home.
A native of Nicholasville, he was the son of the late Louis and Louvania Rakin Hager.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and retired from Fansteel V. R. Wesson Company in Lexington. He was a farmer, and a United States Army veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one stepson, Robert W. Thompson; two stepdaughters, Vickie Lynn Ellis and Dr. Linda T. Olberding; brother, Charles F. Hager; two nieces, Mrs. Charles E. (Janet) Howard and Mrs. Rodney (Shelia) McKinney; two nephews, Charles E. Hager and James E. Hager; and stepgrandchildren, Robert Brian Thompson, Christopher A. Ellis, Jeremy Jackson Ellis, Laura Ellen Olberding and Elizabeth Clare Olberding.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Winchester Cemetery by the Rev. Lee Cruse.
