Mary Lee Tate, 70, daughter of the late John and Gustava Brown was born on Sept. 19, 1942, in Warsaw, Ky. She departed this life Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
At an early age she confessed her life to Christ and became a member of Parkridge Baptist Church where she remained a member and faithful supporter. Mary was united in marriage to John Nathan Tate Sr., who proceeded her in death.
Mary was a business owner. She and her husband started Tate’s Window Cleaning. From that, they formed Tate’s Rental Properties, which she owned until her death.
Mary loved flowers and gardening.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, John Nathan Tate Jr.; one grandson, Cedrick O’Neal Tate, a great-grandson, Keisaunn Tate; a stepson, John Huguely, all of Winchester; one brother, Edward (Laverne) Brown of New Liberty, Ky.; one sister, Gladys (George) Thornton of Atlanta, Ga.; one stepbrother, Ted (Lucille) O’Bannon of Louisville; one stepsister, Martha Ann Moss of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Cora Selmon and Flora (Robert) Shelby, both of Winchester; a very special friend, Hellen Jett of Winchester; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Keith P. Clark & Son Funeral Home, 211 W. Broadway. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at Consolidated Second Baptist Church, 205 E. High St., Warsaw, Ky.
