Mervin Eugene Baker, 86, husband of Dolly Jordan Baker, passed away at 2:26 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at his home.

A native of Powell County, he was the son of the late James and Nancy Tipton Baker. Eugene was a retired Clark Energy lineman and electrician, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Ruckerville Church of Christ.

Additional survivors include two sons, Larry Wayne (Sandy) Baker and Michael T. (Renee’) Baker; two daughters, Betty (Robert) Martin and Kathy Jo (Ronnie) DeBord; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Virda Pelfrey, Ona Faye Jack and Mae Hartzog; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Baker; three brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Scobee Funeral Home by Bro. Alan Epperson. Burial will follow in the Clarmont Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Chris Frazier, Anthony Estes, Shirley Brandenburg, Fred Warner, Gary Epperson, Ike Brandenburg, Robert Pelfrey and David Jordan. Honorary will be Melvin Jordan, William Wilcox, Andrew Dunn and Aaron DeBord.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday.
