Rufus Crowe Jr., 81, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the VA Hospital on Cooper Drive in Lexington.
Born in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Rufus Crowe Sr. and Iva Irene Branham Crowe.
He retired from the Facility Engineering Department of Square D Company and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Louise (Ronnie) Myatt of Shelbyville, Janice LaVern (Tony) James of Versailles, and Anita Crowe (Jeff) Merriss of Huntington Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank (Janice) Crowe of Montgomery Creek, Calif., Leroy Crowe of Mayslick, Charles (Mary) Crowe of Bonaire, Ga., and James Michael (Helen) Crowe of Lexington; two sisters-in-law, Carlene Crowe and Rosie Crowe; and many other family members and friends who will mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George L. Crowe and William E. Crowe; and one sister, Mollie Hockensmith.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road.
Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
