2011 Youth Salute winners
Kayla Harrison
GRC

Kayla is an active member of Junior Advisory, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Embracing Global Obligations, First Priority and Beta Club.
She has played on the varsity tennis team since eighth grade and on the varsity golf team since 10th grade. This year she was chosen as vice president of FCA, as well as advertising manager for the school newspaper, Smoke Signals, and editor of the student-led district newspaper, The Connection.
She helps run Cinderella’s Closet and is a Youth Network member for Clark County’s Agency for Substance Abuse Policy.
Kayla is also a member of Christview Christian Church’s youth group where she volunteers for different activities such as Jesus Prom, Kid’s Church and vacation Bible school.

Kelsey May
GRC

Kelsey is a member of many organizations. She participates in the YMCA’s Kentucky Youth Assembly, Future Business Leaders of America, FCA, EGO, Beta Club, National Honor Society and Junior Class Advisory.
Kelsey is an advertising manager for the school newspaper Smoke Signals. She is co-manager of Cinderella’s Closet. She has been appointed as a junior deacon at North Middletown Christian Church and is a member of Holy Ground.
She volunteers with Shop With a Cop, Salvation Army, Father Beiting’s Christmas Mission and Operation Happiness.
Kelsey plays varsity softball for the GRC Lady Cards. She also plays for Madco 18U select softball. Kelsey is enjoying visiting colleges and learning about various careers as she is undecided in her future plans.

Kelsie Parido
GRC

Kelsie is a student athlete. She is a member of both the girls varsity basketball and golf teams at George Rogers Clark. For the past two years, Kelsie has received All-State Academic awards for golf and basketball. She is also the Female Athlete Title XI Representative for her school. Kelsie is also a member of the FC of Kentucky Select Soccer team.
She is involved in Jesus Prom, Student Council and the Mount Zion Christian Church youth group. During the summer, Kelsie volunteers for her school newspaper, Smoke Signals, and as editor for Clark County Public Schools district-wide newspaper, The Connection.
Kelsie plans to attend Western Kentucky University and major in journalism and broadcasting.
