Siv Beate Breivik and Siw Marthe Froyland of Norway are spending this school year in Winchester. Siv is from the capital city of Oslo and Siw Marthe is from coastal Stavanger. Siv lives with the Fred and Mary Farris family on Mount Sterling Road. Siw Marthe lives with Les and Brenda Dixon and their daughter, Dana, in Hancock Valley.
MIDLAND, Texas (AP) — Barefoot, dirty and strapped to a board like a papoose, 18-month-old Jessica McClure blinked in the glare of TV lights as she was hoisted to the surface after 2 1/2 days wedged in a well in her aunt’s backyard.
The toddler was listed in serious but stable condition.
