Winter refused to release its grip on Central Kentucky over the weekend as a surprisingly intense spring snowstorm combined with high winds to create dangerous driving conditions late Saturday and early Sunday. The late-season storm, part of a massive belt of snow that buried parts of Eastern Kentucky with as much as 30 inches of snow, spared Clark County such a fate, but still managed to dump about 6 inches of heavy, wet snow locally.
Plans are being finalized for the Clark County Hospital’s participation in National Hospital Week May 11-16. According to Denise Ockerman, coordinator of events at the hospital, special events have been scheduled May 11-15 and the week’s activities will be highlighted with a Health Fair at College Park on Saturday. The Health Fair will include a Fun-Run-Walk at 8:30 a.m.
Martha Boyd was elected president of the Little Women Homemakers Club meeting April 3 at the home of Norma Collins.
