The Winchester axle plant of Rockwell International will cease assembling axles after Aug. 28. Because of the reduced work load, 85 hourly employees and 25 salaried employees will be laid off permanently, according to Thomas F. Lewis, plant manager.

The Georgia Vegetable Co. — and anyone else in Clark County cultivating more than 40 acres — must tell the newspaper and post signs 24 hours in advance of aerially spraying their crops, the Clark County Fiscal Court ordered Wednesday. Aerial spraying cropped up once more as the court attempted to rid itself of a May 27 order officials worried was illegal because it was improperly passed.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Grimes quietly observed their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday at their home, 39 Park Ave. The couple was married July 14, 1962, at the First Baptist Church, East Lexington Avenue, with the Rev. Dalton Leath officiating.
