Once again this Saturday, the natural hunting country of southeastern Clark County will be the setting for a day of races culminating in the Kentucky Hunt Cup. The Iroquois Hunt Club’s 34th annual Point-to-Point Steeplechase will be held Saturday at the junction of Athens-Boonesboro and Grimes Mill Roads.
Janet Louise Noble has been accepted a a state finalist in the Miss Kentucky American Pre-Teen Pageant and will appear in competition June 21-22 at the Hyatt Regency. The pageant, open to all girls between eight and 12 years of age, is based on mental alertness, self-confidence, achievement in school and performance in stage.
The George Rogers Clark High School Academic Team fell to Madison Central 270-140 Thursday in Lexington, ending the regular season of competition in the Thoroughbred Academic League. Only the varsity team of Bill Brantley, Toby Gibbs and Shane McCaslin competed.
