The George Rogers Clark High School marching band finished sixth in a field of 26 in the Contest of Champions in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Saturday. GRCHS will have another chance this weekend against two Kentucky bands that finished higher in the Contest of Champions when the first state marching band championship is held at Commonwealth Stadium, Lexington.
Members of the George Rogers Clark High School student council for the 1986-87 school year are Stephanie Kash, Christy Farris, Shanda Pace, Shannon Poole, Carrie Tipton, Angela Hill, Ty Clark, Billy Meade, Chad Powell, Hagan Rose, Steven Meade, Barry McNees, Brian Garrett, Robin Clay, Jennifer Pegg, Wendy Plummer, Keith Roberts, Marla Strong, Heather Vance, Shannon Wells and Lowrey Woosley.
The third grade Brownie Troop 632 from St. Agatha Academy presented Clark County Deputy Judge-Executive Lois McCrystal with a birdfeeder for the courthouse recently. Members of the troop are Jennifer Rogers, Elizabeth Rompf, Sarah Midden, Jimmiann Shafer, Emily Ingram, Nancy Skaggs, Trish Chaney, Carlye Burchett, Kinnari Shah, Stephanie Criggall, Lynn Christopher and Mary Ellen Meurer. The troop leader is Claudia Shafer and assistant leader is Susan Skaggs.
