Winchester’s third UCF¿drive is slated to get under way in late September. The admissions community of the United Community Fund will meet Tuesday, Aug. 28, at the home of Mrs. Asa Sphar, Boonesboro Road, to consider agency applications and budget requests for the 1963 fiscal year.
Kenneth Starnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Starnes, Clark County, and Miss Laura Ecton, daughter of Mrs. Sallie Ecton, Bon Haven, and Elliot Ecton, Winchester, have been awarded scholarships by Georgetown College, Georgetown. Both are graduates of Clark County High School.
Miss Nancy Claire Hagan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hagan, Belmont Avenue, has been appointed a Kentucky Colonel on the staff of Gov. Bert Combs.
