All hands on deck

Construction workers with M&M Bridge and Highway Contracting of Mount Sterling Wednesday remove the concrete deck from the US 60 bridge over Interstate 64 at Exit 101, top photo. The overpass work is part of a rehabilitation project on I-64 in Clark and Montgomery counties. I-64 is reduced to one lane of traffic each direction in the construction zone while the road is being paved. Workers Shelby Hardin, left, and Kyle Hardin had to use their hands to remove old concrete from between the original bridge rebar, bottom photo. The overpass bridge, currently closed to traffic, is expected to re-open Tuesday evening.
