The Clark County Community Education Program recently announced the following schedule of fall classes.

Job skills: Health care and customer service

— Medicaid-approved state registered nurse aide (formerly certified nurse aide): Saturday,  Sept. 8 through Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at the Clark County Area Technology Center, 650 Boone Ave. Instructor Rhonda Gilmore RN. Required text is $70 plus tax, available at Bethany Book Room. A $10 nonrefundable deposit is required to register. Tuition is $260 plus a $75 state test fee.

— Basic life support (BLS) for healthcare providers: Thursday, Oct. 11, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. or Saturday, Nov. 10, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave. Instructor Neal Oliver. Cost is $50.

— Heartsaver fist aid, CPR, AED: Thursday, Nov. 8, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave. Instructor Neal Oliver. Cost is $50.

— “Give ‘em a pickle” customer service training: Thursday, Nov. 8, 8 am. to 10 a.m., College Park gym, 15 Wheeler Ave. Instructor is Winchester-Clark County Tourism Commission Director Nancy Turner. Cost is free.

Free for high school students

— Ballroom dance for youth: Tuesday, Sept. 11 through Oct. 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at College Park gym, 15 Wheeler Ave. Instructor is Thom Shcoolmaster.

Lifelong learning: Skills and enrichment

— Ballroom dance for adults: Thursday, SEpt. 13 through Nov. 15, 6 p.m to 8 p.m. at the Colleger Park gym, 15 Wheeler Ave. Instructor is Thom Schoolmaster. Cost is $80 per couple.

— New class; Basic dog obedience: Tuesday, Sept. 25 through Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Community Park, Friendship Drive. Instructor is Jackie Pullum. Cost is $60.

— Become a smart shopper: Monday, Sept. 17, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave. Instructor is Andrea Charles. Cost is $5.

— Concealed carry weapons training: Saturday, Sept. 22 or Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Clark County Board of Education Central Office, 1600 W. Lexington Road. Cost is $75.

— Eat Like a pig, look like a twig: Friday, Sept. 7, noon to 1 p.m. or Monday, Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Bluegrass Community and Technical Ccollege, 2020 Rolling HIlls Lane. Instructor is Kari Branson. Cost is free.

— Repair wood windows: Tuesday, Oct. 23, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Winchester City Hall, 32 Wall Street. Cost is free.

— Self defense for women: Tuesday, Sept 4, 6:45 to 9 p.m. at Bluegrass Budokai, 26 N. Main Street. Instructor is Craig Caudill. Cost is free.

— Small businsess — strategies for sales and marketing: Thursday, Sept. 6, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Winchester City Hall. Instructor is Linda Hall. Cost is free.

— New class; Sign Language — beginners: Monday and Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Nov. 14, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Clark Middle School, 1645 Martin Luther KIng Jr. Drive. Instructor is Arlene Hoffman. Purchase of “ABC (A basic course in sign language)” for $36 before class begins. Cost of class is $99.

— Survival basics: Tuesday, Oct. 16, 6:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at Bluegrass Budokai, 26 N. Main Street. Instructor is Craig Caudill. Cost is $35.

Computers

— New class; Computers for beginners: Thursdays and Saturdays Sept. 1 throuh Dec. 15, 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at The Hangout Arcade, 30 N. Main Street. Each class is four weeks but participants may begin at any time and attend either or both days. Computers will be provided onsite. Seating is limited so reregistration is encouraged. Cost is $25.
