A Winchester Police Department police officer was injured in an accident Thursday evening.
Officer Chris Cantor was driving south on Lexington Avenue around 5:53 p.m. when another vehicle ran the stop sign at the intersection of Burns Avenue, turning left toward Maple Avenue, according to Winchester Police officials.
Cantor’s vehicle struck the other vehicle, causing injuries to Cantor, the driver of the other vehicle and a passenger in the other vehicle.
The civilian vehicle driver’s claims she remembers only being at the stop sign and listening to music, prior to the accident, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle was treated at the Clark Regional Medical Center. She was cited for having a learner’s permit with no licensed driver in the vehicle. There were three male passengers in the vehicle, according to the report.
Winchester Police Chief Kevin Palmer said the investigation is ongoing. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
