Navy pallbearers carried the body of Petty Officer Second Class Taylor Gallant from First Baptist Church followed by family members during the funeral service Saturday morning. Gallant died Jan. 26 during a U. S. Navy training exercise off the coast of North Carolina. Members of Gallant¿s unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12, attended the funeral. Despite the rain, many Winchester residents and 220 Boy Scouts attending a badge fair lined Main Street to pay their respects.
