Gnawing on North Main

A trackhoe operated by Wade Sewell cuts through the layer of brick Tuesday that was once the surface of North Main Street many years ago. Sewell digs out a low section of the street in front of Fannie Bush Elementary School. The Allen Company of Winchester has been contracted to remove several low spots, mill and re-pave the road from the CSX Railroad tracks to Veterans Memorial Parkway just past Conkwright Middle School. The company also will install accessibility ramps on the sidewalks.
