High water marks

Danny Coleman with Coleman¿s Tank Surface of Mississippi and an employee of Tank Pro Inc. of Alabama work on the top of the Winchester Municipal Utilities water tower near Cherry Street on Tuesday afternoon, top photo. Coleman is doing repairs to the tank, including installing a mixing system to take water from the bottom of the tank while fresh water enters from the top. Tank Pro employees, right photo, drill holes in the ground to attach a drape over the tank to protect the trailer park from the work Tuesday morning. The tower will be sand blasted to remove all the old paint, and then a primer coat and two coats of paint will be applied. The Winchester logo will be painted on the tank to complete the job. Work on the 500,000 gallon tank is expected to take four to five months to complete.
