Leah R. Miller Crawford passed away on June 29.
She was a breast cancer survivor, but died losing the battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born July 4, 1940 in Sykesville, Pa. She graduated from Clark County High School in 1958.
It was later the same year, Aug. 30, that she married Samuel Thomas Crawford, her husband for 52 years. He, along with their three children, Robinn E. Beaver of Tampa, Fla., Andrew D. Crawford of Muncy, Pa., and Martina R. Gray of Quakertown, Pa., all survive her.
Mrs. Crawford also has three younger siblings, Karen Miller of Muncy, Pa., Marcia Woosley of Winchester, and Harold Miller Jr. of Westerville, Ohio.
Leah worked for Roses Department Store for a time, and then in the office of Trinity United Methodist Church, where the family also attended services.
In 1972, Sam and Leah moved the family to Pennsylvania, during which time Leah worked for 10 years at GTE Sylvania in Montoursville, Pa., and later, for IBM in Harrisburg, Pa.
When she settled in for retirement, she became a full-time grandma to her six grandchildren, Seth Gray, Zachary Gray, Miranda Crawford, Samuel Crawford, Spenser Gray and Trevor Gray.
Sam and Leah attended the Moreland Community Church.
The family deeply appreciates the cards sent thus far. They also ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Leah’s name to Hospice or Alzheimer’s research.
