State to close two roads for culvert work

Two roads — one in Clark County and another in nearby Fayette County — will be closed temporarily next week by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Department of Highways due to work on culverts.

In Clark County, the department will temporarily close KY 3371, or Becknerville Road, Monday, Aug. 13, through Thursday, Aug. 16, during the hours of 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The location for the closure on Becknerville Road will be between KY 1927 (Colby Road) and KY 1923 (Waterworks Road). Motorists can utilize KY 1927 (Colby Road) and KY 1923 (Waterworks Road) as alternative routes.

In Fayette County, KY 1927 (Todd’s Road) will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The location for the closure on KY 1927 will be between KY 1973 and the Clark County line (mile point 6.3).

Human Services Council meets Aug. 21

The Clark County Human Services Council will meet Tuesday, Aug. 21, at noon at Arby’s. Representatives of all human service agencies serving Clark Countians are invited.

NAMI meeting set for Aug. 20

Input sought for Veterans Memorial Parkway

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will host a public meeting to discuss alignment alternatives for the Veterans Memorial Parkway Extension on Monday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at George Rogers Clark High School.
